I live in the So. Bay and often do solo rides and group rides with other 2-smokers within the Bay Area.
If you are interested in joining in on rides (twisty and/or urban), please, don't hesitate to voice here and join in.
If you're intersted in doing track, I race/track in Stockton (SMRRC), approx 1 hr drive from So. Bay.

i'm here in the East Bay (San Leandro) to be exact. i do know where TCR is but haven't had the time to go down there to check them out. i do go down to Salinas about twice a week. just never had the time to swing by there yet. but as of right now i'm trying to piece my YSR back together and probably looking for another rolling chassis for track.

any update of your YSR?
I think the closest I was to San Leandro, was a ride with friends, through Redwood Rd and Grizzly Peak (over 70 miles). Prior to that, I did a solo ride through Calaveras Rd, Niles Canyon, Palomeras towards Castro Valley, up to Dublin through Sunol, then back through Calaveras Rd to home (over 70 miles).
My latest ride, with a friend on his motard Derbi, was a couple weeks ago through Mines Rd to Patterson, and back. At that time, I got to test the top speed since upgrading to a Metrakit 72cc top-end, w/ a sprocket combo of 13/39, top speed hit was 73 mph. The ride calculated to 112 miles, which is the longest ride I had done on the YSR.
I am anxious to do another ride soon.

atleast your getting to ride. I still havent found anyone to ride with.  Im getting tired of riding by myself... Althoe I did find another YSR. It was for sale, so I bought it... $800 titled (Grand total of 8 here in Idaho. 3 owned by me, 2 owned by some young kid who wont ride them, 1 by a former Cali guy~ he cant make time to go ride, 1 non titled (posibly stolen?)~ so it wont be on the street & 1 in the cycle salvage yard....I stripped most of the useable parts.) |

Here are some photo's to share of rides I have done with friends......enjoy!  This pic was taken in Brentwood (CA), while stopped for lunch. We gathered for a ride through Morgan Territory (Marsh Creek Rd), in the Antioch area. Bikes: lower left, Marcus's 72cc Derbi motard next to Eddie's 'stock' Derbi Motard. Next row is, AJ's 75cc Aprilla RS50 next to Mark's "Spider Man" replica Aprilla Scooter, and my YSR (Derbi 50cc) in the middle  pic of me on very twisty back road in Antioch, courtesy of Eddiemcrider (5 min from his house)  A mini ride from Hwy 92 thru Hwy 35, Tuatanus Creek Rd, Hwy 1, up thru Hwy 84 to Alices Restaurant (then 35 back to 92). Bikes: Left is Mark's Zuma Scooter, AJ's 72cc Aprilla RS, his friends 72cc Aprilla RS, my YSR (Derbi 50cc), and Eddie's 72cc Derbi Motard.  A mini ride up to The Wall (Berkely Hills).....in the background, under fog, is the Golden Gate Bridge. Bikes: Mark's 'plated' 04 NSR, my YSR (Derbi 50cc), AJ's 72cc Aprilla RS, and Eddie's 72cc Derbi Motard.  Another trip up to The Wall with friends. Bikes: AJ's 72cc Aprilla RS, my YSR (Derbi/Metrakit 72cc), and Mark's 'Repsol' Honda 400rr. Not pictured, who also joined us is Theo with his RVF Honda NC35 and Eddie with his Derbi 72cc Motard  A mini loop ride thru Dublin, Fremont, and Castro Valley. Here we are on Palomeras Rd.  The most recent ride, Me and my good friend Eddie on a ride from Livermore up through Mines Rd to Patterson. This is on Del Puerto  and finally, me and another friend crashed Santana Row's Ducati Bike Night on the mini's. Next the YSR is my friend Brad's "blinged" out ZB50  |

Althoe, I did race aginst a POS Chinese import 125 street bikes.
Avanti 125 or something like that. Its identical to the Phoenix 125. They are slightly larger than a YSR. That was the last time Ive seen that guy. LOL!

One thing I have to admit about the Phoenix or Avanti, it's a good looking 600rr replica. However, and unfortunately, it is way under powered w/ the 125cc motor I almost bought one. Altho', it seems they have a 200cc version, which I think is cool. But then again, power wise, I'd rather have an EX250 (in comparison price tag wise). On that note, I only wish the states would bring in the Euro Kawi 250 *cries* Imo, those bikes would be selling like hot cakes! The release of the Korean 250 bikes seem to be gaining popularity, but hp wise, don't compare to the Ninja 250 |

No I was on my moded 50! 88 YSR50 ~ TCR fork brace, 20mm carb + K&N filter, Boisen reeds, bronz swingarm & shock bushings, oil blockoff, Ferodo brakes, ? rear hugger, LP short stalk II signals (yes they work! I can give you the secret.), alum spools used to hold the tail on & tie down cargo, gell grips, Toomy Racing pipe, K&S LED marker lights, LED licens plate bolts, LED' to light up the motor at night, Frame sliders, *I made & polished an alum brake stay, (havent finished the alum dash yet), custom gell seat pad, locking batery door, I moded the headlight so the bulb is replaceable, I polished the side covers rear brake holder?, exaust can, levers, I moded the rear grab bar & recesed the tail light + plate, Lots of color mached reflective tape on wheels, forks & frame so it will light up at night! & I moded a fog light to 6 volts. YES, I ride the S#i+ out of this bike! Near 7000 miles in 5 years. Im sure Ive forgoten sevral things. Ican go 65 with out a problem. Should be able to go near 70 (I was raidared @ 71 mph & got a ticket), if I could get full throtle. For some reason I have to back off about 1/8 to 1/4 to get power back. At full throtle it makes the worst noise & just looses speed. TCR rebuilt the motor, but never tested it. Im positive it is the carb. I sent it back & they rebuilt it, but once again they didnt test it. It still has the same problem. I realy want the NEW honda CBR150! Unfortianatly its a Canadian bike. I havent seen the Euro Ninja. Got any pics or info? The US version hasnt changed since the 80's & still looks like crap!!!!! |

7000 miles within 5 years?!?! I only have a little over 5600 on my clock, and I've had the bike since 91'! *cries*......altho', that does not count the amount of track days  Either you ride it every day, or you do a lot of long rides What is the size piston you using? And what sprocket combo? 70mph is pretty good for a YSR motor *thumbup* You should post up close-ups of your headlamp mod. I amy want to do that to one of my headlamps......I have another project I plan to start (04 NSR motor in a YSR chassis). |

Yah I rode it every day when I first got it. I was still riding it to work when It was down in the teens. Yes I froze my nutz off! Now I live 20+ miles outside of town. Didnt get much riding in this year due to all the famlie issues. When I ride now its usualy about 70 to 100 miles at a time. Im on my 4th piston & needing a new one by the end of the season. Its actualy now 6 years that Ive owned the 50. I have a 13 front & 42 rear. Piston is just over stock .25 (i think) I was 120 lbs @ the time of the ticket. Now about 145lbs. Cant Check your Yerbi post. |

Hi ysrcali, Your pics and bikes are AWESOME really like your nsr too! I hear that (zb) nice motor is really fast 80+ mph?? My friend has one with the G-craft stuff and gpx motor it looks and runs AWESOME !! P.S keep on dragging that knee! that pic is so COOL MAN!!!!!  Thanks crazy1 |
