I saw ground lights for motorcycles on Ebay and thought that could be a cool touch for my YSR. Since a YSR is a 6 volt, would I have to use a seperate system for the ground lights? And how long would a few batteries be able to run say, 30-40 LEDs? What kind of batteries should I use? Or would it be easier to find 6 volt LEDs and wire them into the headlight circuit?

Look to this article for some info www.kpsec.freeuk.com/components/led.htmAs a rule of thumb 3 to 4 LEDs in series would work to make a single 'light' unit on a 6v system. As for the current pull/how long it will stay lit? If you had 4 'light unit' pulling 100mah that would be 400mah and a set of 4 D batteries would be about 11,000mah. www.betterlifegoods.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=BLG%2DCAT21450So about 27 hours. Then you recharge them! Or take apart a accent lighting solar lawn light and wire that up for years of nightly light. I would venture to guess that 30-40 LEDs would be a bit much. You can find some very bright wide angle LEDs that would do a lot for less of them. Kind of depends on where you are putting them. With 30 you would end up looking like a low flying UFO from Close Encounters. John
