What kind of gains in top speed would I see with sending my head to TCR for a port and reshape the squish band. I already plan for a pipe, 20mm carb and Carbon reeds but I am willing to spend a little extra $$ if its worth it.
Second question, is using the 13t front sproket my best bet with a stock rear? I will be riding on roads that are usually 40-50mph and dont wanna have to rev the crap out of the bike the whole time. It seemed that with my 87 (20mm carb, TCR pipe, 13t) I was reving the piss out of it everywhere. But I was 15yrs old then so its kinda hard to remember in my current old age.

I cant answer all your questions, But TCR can. I run the 20mm carb, 13 / 44 sprockets & a Toomy Race pipe. I get 64 mph top speed (WFO). If you tweek the gearing much from there you start loosing low end power. The port & squash band mods will give you a litle more power, & you may be able to change the gearing a bit more. From what I understand, its enough that youll notice the difrance. Exactly how much Im unsure of. (I havent done them) I think you get just a bit more power if you run a 24mm carb with thoes mods. The best way to get all your power to the ground is with the bronz swing arm bushings, shock bushing, (shock if you have tuns of extra cash), clutch kit, progersive fork springs, & fork brace. Then start adding all the other stuff, The tripple clamp will help to stiffen up the front a bit more. The alum wheels (not sure there available any longer) are lighter & will help you gain a bit more power (as wil adding all the rest of the alum light weight stuff. Its not that much. Im sure if you were to scientificly test it you might gain a mile or two to the top end & have a noticable difrance in take off power.) As fot the pipe- TCR probably the best all around pipe. The Toomy Race then the DG have the best top end. Botth the Pro flow T Toomy Crawford need the RPM's way up to produce the max HP. (toomy crawford will work the best only with every posible mod to the 50 motor)
Call TCR & ask them what the HP & Speed difrance will be with the head & cilender mods.
If you have any othe questions dont hesatate to ask. Ill do my best to help.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully the alum wheels are still available! I have a fear that parts for these are going to become extinct over time due to popularity of NSR's, derbi's, etc so I want to hoard while I can ;D. Like I said on the other site, a project log will being once I get some time, please dont hesitate to critique.. Thanks-jay
