top speed? I don't know yet. However, guys with the same motor and set-up, they say between 75 & 80, if not, a hair more. I plan to drop a couple teeth in the rear for added top-speed. And honestly, I am more interested getting it geared in that sweet spot, decent top speed and good bottom end for climbing hills. Further, I won't sacrifice getting up to speed sooner too. Moreover, there is no place I can actually ride above 60 mph without attracting un-wanted attention, as I am restricted to urban roads and expressways because of the cc limit law. That said, I will be content with it geared comfortably in the 70 - 75 mph range. For the track, I'll have plenty of power to get around a lot quicker than it was as a 50cc As for power? Man, I sure wish it had this kinda power out of the box. it is very close to what it was like when I had my 80cc. It definately gets up to speed a lot sooner than it did as a 50cc. And definately worth the cost of the conversion. Seeing the video, what are your thoughts? Does it look fast enough?

Can't tell from the vid. Since Im on dial up, it won't run smoothly.
Just got the plates & took my YSR/YZ80 out & it burried the needle at the far side of the high beam light! What a rush!!! ;D Unfortianatly I had to let off bcause there were cars. That was a blessing, since a Cop was comming from the other direction. The motor needs more tweeking. Its a 96 YZ80 motor, Has a new hotrod crank, new boisen reads, new top end, & a modifyed aftermarket NSR80 pipe. It vibrates like crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the bike I will do the 200cc on later this year.

Lance, Have you braced the chassis and or rubber mounted the motor mounts? No doubt your motor vibrates like crazy, ask me how "I" know When I had my KX80, the vibration from the motor eventually vibrated out the internal guts from my key switch while on a ride. When I went to shut off the bike, there no longer was a key w/ guts. I had to use a screw driver to turn on/off the key switch (lol) Can't tell from the vid. So what is the new top speed? Hows the power feal in compairisan? Lance, Finally got to test the top speed. W/ 13/39 sprockets, using a Garmen Satallite speedo, I hit a top-speed of 73mph. I was a bit paranoid once there, altho' I feel I could have pushed it to 75 mph. Moreover, the YSR was very stable at speed. More than likely, all the suspension upgrades was a contributing factor; 2nd fork spring, Wings fork brace, TCR upper triple clamp, Alum clip-ons, bronze swing-arm bushing, Fox Shock, w/ Dunlop TT91's.

Why were you paranoid I had my 91 YSR80 w/ yz80 up to 90+. It was awsomwe! (except the vibration) Thats why I want a 200+cc 4 stroke. Very similar power & torque ratings as that 96 YZ80 motor. 96 YZ80 "dino" 17.4 hp & 8.6 lbs torque @ the rear wheel.

Has anyone done the 200cc 4-stroke without chassis modifications?
Do you plan on using the Lifan 200cc motor?
I often pondered that myself, but would like to hear how it compares to the Honda motors, hp wise. Do you have any info?
I would love to use the Honda 150r motor, but heard there is no room for the radiator.....bummer. I may have to go with an air cooled motor.

I have been trying to decide about the motor. Ultimatly Id like to get a 4 stroke yamaha motor (ttr225,230, WR, etc.) I been concidering the lifan watercooled 250, & lifan 200 aircooled, the watercooled is smaller than the aircooled. Both will fit the chasis with very monimal mods. even less for the watercooled. Somewhere I have all the specs...
I know the 200 aircooled has almost the exact HP & torque ratings @ the crank as my YZ80 had @ the wheel. Its still an option. Ive just holding out hoping to find a yamaha. I do have pics of a lifan 200 in the YSR if you want to see what mods were needed.
