Hey, Im David from Georgia. Ive got an 87 ysr. It has a 20mm carb, K&N, Toomy pipe, Works shock and oil injection removed. I have future plans for a bigger motor or maybe a Derbi motor. Some cosmetic mods like paint, mirrors, different headlight and maybe a tail section.

Other than the 20mm carb and tuning I bought it the way it sits. I dont even know what the stock light set up looks like. The guy I got it from had some good ideas.... Just didnt know how to do quality work i guess(as you will see in the pics). It really cleans up the back. He also made quick release mount for the lower farings. Also a cool idea but they need better pins. On to the pics. Heres a close up of what it looks like on the out side. Brake light: looks like the battery box was cut out (red arrows) and the Brake light was added to the rear frame extension thing(green arrow). Tag bracket: looks like it was bent(red arrows) then bolted back to the brake light Now the ugly part, Turn lights dont know if thier stock or not maybe some one can tell me I plan on redoing it as the welds are bad and too much silicone is a bad thing.

Yah, it doesnt look too bad from the outside. Here are some pics of mine. Its not perfect, but doesnt look too bad. Notice i sucked the signal mounts way in & reversed them.

Yea looks way better than stock. You did a much cleaner job than the hack job that was done to mine.

I still need to finish sanding & painting the tail & then put on some trim around the tail light. I plan to replace the reflector & mount some LED lights behind them. (I glue on the reflector on insted of using the stickie back tape , this way they are transparant & the light will be visible through them.)

I did it last year. I think it looks so much better than the stock US setup. I realy hated the big boxy tail light & kept hitting the signals. Since I moved them in (brackets are just about flush with the grab rale. I made them as wide as the plate bracket), I have yet to kick or hit one.

Rob here. here's my latest project: YSR Blaster. I've had now 3 YSR's. 1 50 converted to an YSR80 (not YZ80 but rather a true YSR80 from Japan), 1 50 converted to Yerbi 72 (had an upgraded head kit and SP pipe installed on it). and now I have a YSR-Blaster project (that's a 200cc Blaster engine implanted in a YSR frame with major main frame and lower cradle mods).....which I'm having a local YSR guru help me on.
let me see if I can post a picture......

well..guess it worked. Came with a whole bunch of extra goodies already done on the bike. here were some of the descriptions off ebay when I won the auction:
Vehicle Description:
This YSR was built from the frame up with a 2003 Blaster YFS200 two stroke engine. The frame is a 1988, so that is what it is registered as. As far as DMV, it is fully street legal with California registration, the pink slip matches the Blaster engine to the YSR frame, don’t ask me how I did it but it was done (in California both frame and engine serial numbers are on the title and have to match to be street legal, you can’t just put any engine in your bike and be legal without reregistering it) this by itself is worth the starting bid price. I starting building bike a couple years ago but haven’t messed with it for a while, so the description will be to the best of my recollection, you are more than welcome to come check bike out and take around the block if you need to. Parts on bike are: 2003 blaster engine, Tommy Crawford exhaust pipe and muffler, sounds mean, like a built up two stroke dirtbike. It has custom front and rear sprockets with a big ATV chain, I believe it is a 420 or something like that. The swing arm is a custom aluminum I think it s a couple inches longer than stock, but don’t quote me on that. The Pegs/Shifter/Brake are a custom aluminum set, I forgot who made it and I think can be easily converted to reverse shifting (gps shift pattern). The wheels are aluminum, I believe made by Duncan, along with some good Dunlop TT90 tires. Moving up to the front, I upgraded the fork stem bearing to some nice Calamari ones. The fork has the second spring I believe from Calamari also. Has steel braided brake line, Daytona fork brace along with a Calamari upper fork clamp. Has aluminum handlebars along with the twist throttle and new grips, the Blaster carburetor was modified for the twist throttle. I made a nice aluminum dash for it, which holds the original speedometer along with a Daytona tachometer. The body is a R1 body kit from YSR50.com and I have the Raptor headlights for it, the body needs to be finished as well as the lights mounted, I also damaged the tail end a little bit by dropping a crate on it, but is easily fixed with filler, don’t think it was structural. I think the bike is pretty much complete, has one key for ignition, tank, and even has helmet holder. Lights are all there, but bulbs should be replaced with 12 volt ones. Bike pretty much just needs all the wiring hooked up and the bodywork done to be one heck of a street bike. I rode the bike down the block up to 55 mph, has a lot more, but I’m not brave enough to go any quicker, with the gearing it has it should be hitting around 90 mph(scary fast). The blaster engine is supposed to be a smoother running engine vs. the YSR because it is better balanced.
