Just wondering if anyones played around with sprocket sizes with stock ysr. Was thinking of dropping one tooth in the rear.

If everything is stock; You will loose a minute amount power on the take off & gain maby 1 mph. Not enough to waste the $. Just my opinion.
If you go with a 13 tooth front, it will be more noticeable difrance.

Not sure how large of a guy you are but my YSR gearing was a 14-44 and it went pretty good. but you might need that 13.

Yes, 13 would probably be would be the best. Expecialy if his bike is bone stock. Since stock is 12 - 44, to only drop 1 tooth in the rear would be almost pointless.
